The SBA offers free online training that I think any small business owner should be taking advantage of. The available courses are identified by topic. The 35+ courses are all self-paced and should take about 30 - 45 minutes each to complete. Some courses are multi part. Most require a brief online registration.

Personally, I would recommend the following courses as a good sampler:

  • Cash Flow and Accounting - step by step of what is expected when starting a new business
  • Accounting Help - Find out how to keep track of you finances using the standard accounting tools, balance sheet, income statement, depreciation, and amortization. From Business Town.
  • Small Business Primer: Guide to Starting a Business
  • Starting Your Small Business*
  • Business Plan Workshops
  • Identify Your Target Market
  • How to Start a Business on a Shoestring Budget By Trump University
  • Understanding Taxes
  • Tax & Accounting Basics

Can you think of anything more fun to do on a Friday or Saturday nite than take a class on accounting or taxes??? (laughing my head off - only I might think that was a cool thing to do…!!)

Seriously, there is some really good information in these courses and if you could take 2-3 hours every week for the month of January to go through the ones I recommend above, you will be immeasurably smarter financially and business-wise in only a few weeks!

Horaayy..there are 2 comment(s) for me so far ;)

You may not be the only one who thinks spending a Saturday night this way is fun. Great minds think alike! ;)

I am so glad that there are other perverted folks out there who think this would be a fun thing to do on a Friday or Saturday nite! Thanks for joining my small club, Miss Heather!
