The Sled Fest yesterday was a lot of fun on Saturday despite the wind hampering the big tricks. Watching the snowmobiles jumping up to 50 feet in the air with the riders doing some toe tapping aerial leg tricks was really enjoyable.
Unfortunately, the wind made it too dangerous for the riders to attempt any back flips. However, the riders made up for it by giving the crowd lots of other highflying stunts. Afterwards, the riders very personably gave out free posters and autographs, even snowmobile rides to some adoring young fans.
The winner of the day’s event ended up being Sam Rogers of Billings. A very nice young man and an amazing athlete. To manhandle these sleds the riders spend at least 2-3 hours in the gym almost every day.
Sam will be in the Winter X-Games, which will be broadcast Jan. 24-28 on the ESPN networks and ABC according to the Tribune.
