It is always a good idea in your home or office to store like items together in close proximity. Baskets and boxes will help you do that and your area can look good too.
You can see how baskets can declutter workspace on my before and after pics of the Construction office we worked on last year.
We used baskets on the shelves in this project because it was that client’s preference. My personal preference is to use closed containers with lids so that you can stack them as needed. Closed containers are also a cleaner option as the lids keep the dust off the items inside your container.
Clear containers work really well because then you can see what is inside them.
Whatever kind of container you use, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS (grin) label everything so that you know what is in each and every container, drawer and basket on every shelf.
Before you go out and buy a bunch of baskets or containers, think about what you have to store and where you are going to be storing it. Take measurements! Plan your strategy.
There are many places to buy nice looking baskets and containers both from local stores and online.
One of our Montana bloggers, Dave’s Gift Shoppe, has a yummy online store with some unique baskets that would look great in any office. For example:
Staples has some lidded boxes that are nice looking.
On the other hand, you can always go to the standard Rubbermaid type of containers found at most local stores. Not exactly pretty, but very functional.
