Consider that every piece of information that you allow into your home/office/mind will require your time and attention. Every e-mail. Every joke. Every phone call. Every conversation. Every single piece of mail.
*Input in* equals time and attention *out*. Time and attention away from the things that really matter: away from your real priorities.
Take some time to assess what is coming in for you. Can you let go of anything? Any updating that needs to be done to let others know what not to send you? Anyone to ask about what you send them? Go back to my posts about stopping junk mail, credit card offers, and getting off of national phone call lists. It will only take a minute to stop those inputs from coming into your life, home, and office.
Also, opt out of every email newsletter you do not read. Even the just-nice-to-read and might-get-to’s. Even the ones you just have filtered to a folder. If you are not reading them, why have them even tug a little bit on your attention?
Go thru your email-box and opt out, unsubscribe and generally get your name off of email advertising lists. When you buy something online, watch that you check off the box that you do not want other offers from that company or their affiliates.
Simplify the inputs into your life that you have control over!
