 ”Either you run the day or the day runs you.” - Jim Rohn

Such true words!!!

Some times no matter how much you try to control, schedule, or structure your day, you fail and the day controls you.

In that case, over at the sweet blog iCing, Gala recently posted 50 ways to “rescue the worst day ever”. For example, you can try:

  • Treating yourself with a small luxury, like a fancy bath, a manicure, pretty flowers, or a few pieces of fine chocolate (food always seems to work for me…hot oatmeal any one?)
  • Changing your surroundings in some way: a walk in the park? A decision to go home and watch your favorite movie?
  • Listening to your favorite upbeat music
  • Spending time on adorable or funny websites
  • Getting some exercise
  • Baking
  • Making art or otherwise working on a craft project for fun
  • Seeking out supportive friends
  • Making “a list of things you’re grateful for”

There are many more suggestions in the original post…

Granted, most of these ideas are subjective: not everyone enjoys everything. Nor will these ideas solve serious depression, or change the fact that your cat Fluffy had to be put down. But there’s at least a grain of truth in all of them: reduce each idea to its basic concept and then following that directive will probably comfort you and improve your mood at least a wee bit.

Remember, tomorrow is another day. Be prepared to take a deep breath, get back on your feet, dust yourself off and get back on your track with your eye on your goal. (Get back on the horse as my Grandpa used to say! {grin})

You still have to get things done. {smile}
