One of the worst things that we all do to ourselves at some time in our lives is spend a bunch of time thinking about what was and what could have been. Then we probably spend a bunch of time projecting into the future and wondering/worrying about what may happen. (My good friend, Sue, is always getting after me for this!!)

She explains to me that this way of thinking is a great way to make your life a lot more miserable and limited than necessary. The key to solving this problem is of course to live as much as you can in the only moment that you ever really live in and control. This moment right now: The Present Moment. Try to “Be of Present Mind” and stop worrying about what you ‘should’ have done or about the future. (Not to say you should not plan for the future!)

I would like to recommend that you read (and reread) the Positivity blog’s article “8 Ways to Return to the Present Moment“.

According to the author, being in the moment will help bring you clarity, calmness and positivity. Who among us could not use a little more of those three things to help us in getting the things done right now that we need to get done?
